Classic Hummus Dip

chickpeas, drained

garlic, minced

olive oil

1/3 cup
tahini (sesame seed butter)

lemon juice

pita bread and vegetable sticks (celery, carrots, cucumbers) to serve

Directions

  1. In food processor, combine chickpeas and garlic. Purée 30 sec., or until coarse ground. Add tahini, olive oil, 1/4 cup (60 mL) water, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Purée until smooth. Transfer to small bowl. Sprinkle with paprika. Serve with pitas and vegetables.
