New York striploin steaks (approx. 1?1/2 lb/750 g), trimmed and cut into 1-in./2.5 cm cubes

wooden skewers, soaked in water for several hours or overnight

Directions

  1. AT HOME

  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together soya sauce, apple juice or water, honey, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and chili flakes. Add steak to soya mixture, making sure all pieces are well coated. Marinate, 10 min.

  3. Thread meat onto skewers, taking care to leave a bit of space between pieces for even cooking. Seal skewers in large resealable plastic freezer bag and freeze overnight.

  4. AT CAMPFIRE

  5. Place skewers on grate over hot cooking fire and grill 4 to 5 min. per side (depending on strength of fire) for medium doneness.
