Oat Biscuits with Cheddar & Chives
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Combine flour, oats, salt, cayenne pepper, sugar and baking powder in a bowl and mix well. Add chives and cheddar and toss until evenly distributed.
With two knives or cool fingertips, mix in butter lightly until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk and mix just until combined.
Turn mixture out onto a floured countertop and form into a disc 1/2 in. (1 cm) thick. Brush with a bit of buttermilk and dust with oats. Cut into 8 wedges, transfer to a parchment paper-line baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 min. or until just golden.
